We’ve killed several Boko Haram, ISWAP terrorists – NAF

The Nigerian Air Force has said it neutralised several Boko Haram/Islamic States of West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in airstrikes in the Tumbuns axis of the Lake Chad in Borno State.
Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the NAF spokesperson, in a statement, disclosed that the bombardment did not only wipe out the terrorists’ hideouts but also destroyed their structures and strategic logistics base in the area.
According to Commodore Gabkwet, the NAF, after confirming the terrorists’ activities, which threatened military formations and law-abiding Nigerians in the area, hit Tumbun Fulani and Tumbun Shitu were struck between September 27 an d 30.

The statement further disclosed: “At Tumbun Fulani, terrorists were observed loading jerricans in two gun trucks concealed under shrubs. Subsequently, NAF aircraft were scrambled to interdict the location, believed to be a major logistics base.”
An assessment after the attacks revealed that several terrorists had been killed while their gun trucks were also destroyed.
Also, following discovery of structures believed to be terrorists’ hideouts were noticed tucked under thick foliage, similar strikes were also undertaken at Tumbun Shitu.
The statement said, “The determination of the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) to significantly limit the activities of terrorists in the North East and indeed other parts of Nigeria remains on course.
“Operational gains by the AFN are indicative of improved synergy and cooperation by all security agencies as well as the unwavering support of all Nigerians.”
