We’ll resist terrorists masquerading as bandits from turning Yorubaland into Afghanistan – Gani Adams warns

The Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland, Iba Gani Adams, has warned that the Yoruba would resist attempts by terrorists masquerading to turn the South-west region into another Afghanistan where the fundamentalist Taliban are in control.

Speaking during the open-air National Coordinating Council meeting (NCC) of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), in Agbara-Igbesa, Ogun State, Iba Adams frowned at the approach of the Federal Government that has failed to address the ever increasing security challenges across the country, as terrorists wreaked untold havoc in the country with ease.

“A number of events have justified my position on the unfortunate security situation in the country. It is never a new thing to say that terrorists have invaded the country, using the toga of bandits to traumatise us and wreak untold havoc on the entire country.

“Information at my disposal truly shows that they are presently in the South-west making efforts to spread their act of terrorism to our region.

“But we must state it clearly that we will not allow them to turn the region into a channel or repository for dead bodies.

“We will resist any attempt to turn the South-west to Afghanistan, where the Taliban holds sway,” Iba Adams said.
