War in Obiano’s camp as wife battles ex-Chief of Staff over Anambra Senatorial ticket

Barely a week after Ebelechukwu Obiano, the wife of the immediate past governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano, declared her intention to contest the Anambra North Senatorial seat on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the 2023 general elections, the former governor’s ex-Chief of Staff, Primus Odili, has declared his interest in the same seat and on the same APGA platform.

The seat is currently occupied by Chief Stella Oduah of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who also wants to seek reelection on the platform.

Odili said at his declaration on Tuesday  at Aguleri, the headquarters of Otuocha Local Government Area,  his decision to gun for the ticket was in the overall interest of the people and APGA, which had not been able to produce a senator from the district and not because of disloyalty to Obiano.

He urged the constituents of Anambra North to support his quest and assured them of effective representation if given the chance.

Odili promised: “My tenure in the senate would be people-oriented and I assure everybody of a responsive and responsible representation.”
