US President, Trump declares national day of prayer over coronavirus

President Donald Trump of the United States said his government has declared Sunday as a national day of prayer over the coronavirus pandemic.

President Trump made the announcement on Twitter on Saturday and advised Americans to turn to God so that the country would ‘easily prevail’.
“It is my great honor to declare Sunday, March 15th as a National Day of Prayer,” Mr. Trump said.
“We are a country that, throughout our history, has looked to God for protection and strength in times like these.

“No matter where you may be, I encourage you to turn towards prayer in an act of faith. Together, we will easily PREVAIL!” Mr. Trump tweeted.

This is coming a day after he declared a national emergency in the country to free up federal resources to combat the coronavirus.
So far, the US has recorded over 1,000 confirmed cases of coronavirus in 49 states.
 Trump also announced on Saturday that he had taken the coronavirus test and was expecting a result in a couple of days.
