The Jigawa State House of Assembly, on Tuesday, suspended a former Chief Whip of the House, Mr. Aminu Sule Sankara (APC Ringim) and a former Majority leader, Mr. Sani Ishaq (APC Gumel), for six months over alleged interference with the House investigation on financial spending.
Their suspension was stated by the House Committee Chairman on Information, Mr. Aminu Zakari (APC Gwiwa), while speaking to reporters after the house sitting that the members were suspended with a view to allow for fair investigations into allegations of financial impropriety .
According to him, both the members allegedly attempted to retrieve some financial documents from the Ministry of Finance to prevent the committee set up to investigate financial misappropriation between 2017 and 2018, from doijng its work.

Former Majority leader, Sani Ishaq, who was once a principal officer, when contacted, denied the allegation, saying “It is not honourable for a House member to engage in this act”.
The Majority leader and the Chief Whip were impeached along with the former speaker of the house Mr. Isah Idris, earlier in May.
In the meantime, , the Speaker of the Assembly, Alhaji Idris Garba, communicated to the House some proposed names of some eleven commissioners by the state governor.
Among the names submitted by Governor Badaru, only three former commissioned were returned while the remaining former ones were dropped.
