At exactly 11:52am, the Chief Judge of Ogun State, Mosunlola Dipeolu administered the oath of office on Dapo Abiodun, the 6th democratically elected governor of Ogun State.
Abiodun who won the governorship election under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), was sworn in at the M.K.O Abiola Stadium, Kuto, Abeokuta, the Ogun State.

In attendance were former governors of the State,Chief Olusegun Osoba, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, former deputy governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, the Awujale and Paramount ruler of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Hon. Suraj Adekumbi, Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, Lotto magnate, Sir Kessington Adebutu
Others are the gubernatorial candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) African Democratic Congress (ADC) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) Senator Buriji Kashamu, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka and Otunba Rotimi Paseda respectively.
The new governor was accompanied by his wife, Bamidele Abiodun and Children.
Abiodun was born in Iperu Remo, Remo local government, Ogun State
