President Muhammadu Buhari has intervened in the dispute between the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force over the recruitment of 10,000 additional personnel.
Chairman of the PSC, Mr. Musiliu Smith, a retired Inspector general of Police (IGP) said this, on Tuesday, soon after a meeting with the president.

Mr. Smith, incumbent Inspector General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, and members of the PSC, met with President Buhari where Smith presented the 2018 annual report of the Commission.
Asked whether the dispute was discussed with President Buhari, the PSC boss confirmed that it was tabled before the President.
“Yes, it was. We took the opportunity to brief Mr. President and I am sure his lieutenants are taking care of it”, he added.
