Throwing more light on the championship, Prof Seun Omotayo said AFSU aims to breed students who would effectively combine education with football, thus promoting the Town and Gown philosophy.

He noted that ASFU is the first Pan African Students football union whose objective is to use the prism of football to provide growth and development opportunities for students with football skills.

In Omotayo’s words: “ASFU provides opportunity to combine education and football and secure a future after retiring.”

ASFU has the trio of Peter Rufai, Seyi Olofinjana and Julius Aghahowa as Ambassadors. Aghahowa was one of those that supervised the draw yesterday in Lagos.
