Unemployment cause of insecurity, says Sen. Frank Ibezim

The senator, representing Imo North in the upper chamber of the National Assembly, Sir Frank Ibezim, has identified unemployment as the cause of the myriads if security challenges confronting the country.

Sen. Ibezim, who took his Oaths of Office and Allegiance, on Tuesday, noted that the only solution to insecurity is the creation of employment opportunities for the teeming unemployed youths.

Speaking during the reception held in his honour, in Abuja, Sen. Ibezim said, “The panacea for insecurity. In the country is employment opportunities.

“As long as youths are unemployed, insecurity shall remain with us. The only way to fight insecurity is to find ways to create employment for the teeming unemployed youths.”

He tasked the elite on the need for peace among them, adding that since government cannot do everything, the elite, especially in Imo North, should strategise and synergise to find ways to solve the problem of unemployment.

He continued, “There is no time to waste. Work has begun in earnest. So, I invite anyone with useful ideas to take advantage to join me in moving the zone forward.”

Many notable indigenes of Imo North attended the reception party. Many politicians, among them commissioners in Imo State, current and former lawmakers also in attended in their numbers.

Also in attendance was the Minister of State for Education, Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba.

Speaking on the occasion, the lawmaker representing Okigwe Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Deacon Chike Okafor, expressed joy with the emergence of Sen. Ibezim in the Red Chamber.

He added that all political leaders in Imo North needed to come together and work for the rapid development of the zone.
