Troops capture top ISWAP Commander ‘Saidu Hassan Yellow’ allegedly responsible for killing Army General, three soldiers in Borno

In a significant breakthrough, the Nigerian Army troops of 144 Battalion, Operation HADIN KAI, stationed at Madagali, Adamawa State, have successfully apprehended a high-ranking commander of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), known as Saidu Hassan Yellow or Abu Saidu, in an intelligence-led operation.

 

 

 

 

The notorious terrorist leader, who has long been on the radar of security agencies, was captured in a meticulously planned sting operation conducted by the troops at the Mubi Market General area on April 9, 2024.

According to intelligence sources briefed by Zagazola Makama, a Counter Insurgency Expert and Security Analyst in the Lake Chad region, Saidu Hassan Yellow, aged 32, is believed to be the mastermind behind the heinous attack on Askira Uba Local Government Area of Borno State on November 12, 2021.

 

 

 

 

During this assault, Commander of the 28 Task Force Brigade, Brig.-Gen. Dzarma Zirkusu, and three soldiers tragically lost their lives while providing reinforcement in a counteroffensive against the terrorists.

 

 

 

 

 

Upon the apprehension of Saidu Hassan Yellow, authorities recovered several items from him, including three mobile handsets, three ATM cards, a wristwatch, four rings, a bunch of keys, and N1,900 in cash.

The captured terrorists have since been transferred to the military high command for thorough investigation and profiling, as efforts intensify to dismantle the nefarious activities of insurgent groups in the region.
