Troops of Operation DELTA HAWK (OPDH) have arrested six impostors who had been parading themselves as Army officers in Delta State.
The suspects, Nwokoye Chidera Emmanuel, 20, Nwokoye Francis, 24, Chigozie Arinze, 23, Kingsley Ndukuba, 32, Chidera Anichukwu, 21 years and Chinedu Akwali, 29, were arrested based on information about their activities.
According to the Director, Army Public Relations, Brig.-Gen. Mohammed Yerima, the suspects were arrested at about 11.01p.m. on February 23, along Midwifery school Road at Okpanam General area of Asaba, Delta State.

Gen. Yerima said one Mercedes Benz GL350, one Toyota Corolla with registration number ABJ 49 AA ABUJA, one Fabric Nationale bayonet and pairs of military kits, According to him, “ Chidera who claimed to be a Cadet from Southern Maritime Academy at Ugheli in Delta state, confessed to have gotten the Military kits from one Mr Hassan nicknamed(Commander).”
The Army spokesperson stated that the suspects have been handed over to 63 Brigade Military Police Group for further investigation and prosecution.
“Consequently, the Brigade wishes to call on the general public and law abiding citizens of the state to be weary of such people who parade themselves as military personnel and to report any suspicious person(s) to any nearest military formation or security agencies, ” he said.
