Tordue Salem, murdered Vanguard reporter sister speaks

Tordue Salem, the Vanguard newspaper reporter who was declared missing several weeks ago but has now been found dead was allegedly killed in replace of her sister, according to her sister, Mrs Elizabeth Jessica Kuraun.

Elizabeth is said to be a stanch Buharist and has taken to Facebook to demand an explanation surrounding the death of her brother.

On her Facebook post, she claimed her brother was killed by some people whom she said were after her life, though she failed to reveal their identity.

“Found dead where, when? Who killed my brother? They know that if they kill me it will be too obvious so they killed him,” she wrote on her Facebook page.

She further wrote: “I failed my brother. I failed to find you.

Tordue Salem, the country you loved so much and believed in refused to investigate your missing until the enemy killed you. God will revenge you.”

She also ‘apologised’ for failing his daughter saying “Avaana I am sorry I failed your father,” adding no member of their family was informed to come to identify his corpse.

“No one called us to identify his corpse before news publications even though they have our numbers,” she added.

The Vanguard Newspaper reporter who went missing last month was found dead.

The newspaper reported that details of the recovery of his remains were sketchy as of 9.30 pm on Thursday.

The Federal House of Representatives correspondent was last seen around Total filling station, close to the Force headquarters, Abuja.

One suspect, Prince Enyenihi, 25, has been arrested for attempting to extort the reporters family. He had sent a text message to Salem’s wife with a concealed number demanding N100 million as ransom, The Puch reports
