Tinubu only wants war with Niger to prolong stay in power – Najatu Muhammed

Najatu Muhammed, former Director, Civil Society of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APCPCC), has given reason President Bola Tinubu may be in support of declaring war on coup plotters in neighbouring Niger Republic.

Muhammed in an exclusive interview with Daily Trust Newspaper claimed that Tinubu knows that he is not eligible to contest for any rerun election if the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal decides.

She accused the president of trying to play politics with the crisis in Niger by declaring war on the country.

According to Muhammed: “Tinubu is aware that he is not eligible to contest. The Tribunal judges know this; APC as a political party also knows this.
“If Nigeria is at war, Tinubu can declare a State of Emergency or a martial law that will allow him to remain in power indefinitely, putting aside any tribunal or judicial process challenging his eligibility to even contest the election.”
