There’ll always be imperfections in elections – Femi Gbajabiamila

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, has decried the low turnout of voters during the governorship and states Houses of Assembly elections, insisting that there would always be imperfections in elections.

Hon. Gbajabiamila said this, on Saturday, driung an interview with journalists after casting his vote at Ward 08, Polling Unit 014, in Elizabeth Fowler Memorial School, Surulere, Lagos.

According to him, “In my polling unit, the voting process has been orderly and peaceful. The only downside all over is the low turnout of voters for the elections.

“The mad rush of two weeks ago isn’t there, but then, at the end of the day, we’ll find out what the numbers are.

“What happened a couple of weeks ago is a learning process, whereby INEC tried to introduce new technology and I don’t know what happened with the technology.

“However, that is no excuse. What I’m just trying to say is that in every system, there will always be imperfections until you perfect the system,” Gbajabiamila said.
