Terrorists abduct APC chairman, 13 others in Katsina

The chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in Dan Auta village, Sabuwa Local Government Area of Katsina State was at the weekend abducted by gunmen suspected to be terrorists.

The chairman, who was identified as Alhaji Imamu, was abducted alongside 13 others, including women and children, when the attackers invaded the community.

Two persons, including a security operative from the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, KSCWC, also died in the attack, which occurred at about 2am.

It was gathered that the attackers arrived on motorcycles in large numbers, fully armed with deadly weapons.

However, operatives of the KSCWC and local vigilante groups, who attempted to resist the attackers were overwhelmed by the large number of the attackers.

One of the dead was an operative of the KSCWC, who paid the supreme price while gallantly protecting the community. The second victim was reportedly shot dead by the assailants when he resisted the attempt to kidnap him.

Several other residents were also injured during the attack.
