A group, Lagos Youth Volunteers (LYF), has urged the good people of Lagos to uphold their civic responsibilities by paying their taxes to shore up the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) for the growth and development of the state.
The group, in a statement from its Publicity Secretary, Adekunle Adeosun, said that, the revenue obtained therefrom would be judiciously utilised, stressing that, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has exhibited traits of prudence management of funds in his less than 100 days in office.
The youth leader also tasked the residents to invest in good governance by protecting public property and utilities such as the sophisticated security facility in the metropolitan, reminding the peaceful atmosphere prevalent in the state accounts for the boosting of economy of the state that rubs off on the individuals’ economic well-being.

Adeosun, in the statement, took a critical look at the newly inaugurated Lagos cabinet by Sanwo-Olu and described it as a true path to the state’s redemption observing that the combination of experienced hand and new breeds is a welcome initiative brought on board by the governor.
The LYF Leader enthused that, Lagos will soon start to witness new dawn in good governance that will move the state to the next level in rapidly, just as he also tasked the residents to invest in the government by protecting public property and utilities such as the sophisticated security facility in the metropolitan.
While reminding the people of the importance of peaceful atmosphere to economic stability, Adeosun stressed that the prevalent peace in the state accounts for the boosting of economy of the state that rubs off on the individuals’ economic well-being.
The group therefore commended the Lagos people on maintenance of peaceful co-existence in the state, urging them to double their efforts towards promotion of peace so as to allow for developmental programmes of Sanwo-Olu to further role out for the benefit of all and sundary.
In conclusion, Adeosun urged the residents to double their support for Sanwo-Olu’s administration to guarantee more dividends of democracy to flow to their door steps, assuring that, “this government will not disappoint you.”
