An All Progressives Congress (APC) member of the House of Representatives, representing Yola south/Yola north/Girei federal constituency of Adamawa State, Mustapha Usman was, on Tuesday, sacked by the Supreme Court.
The Supreme Court, presided over by a five-man panel which was led by Justice John Okoro, upheld an appeal made by another APC member, Abdulra’uf Abdulkadir Modibo.

In its ruling, the Supreme Court held that, apart from the fact that Usman falsified his credentials, he also did not participate in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) programme.
The court said that Modibo, who came second in the APC primary, did not take part in the poll, and that the person who emerged second and met the constitutional requirements should be issued certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
