A Nigerian student, Omoregie Emmanuel, has built the statue of activist and businesswoman, Aisha Yesufu as part of his final year project.

The statue is the one where the activist stood with her fist clenched while smoke from police teargas billowed at the background during the EndSARS protest that rocked Nigeria last year.

The young man chose to build Aisha’s statue to appreciate her for her activism in recent times. Omoregie unveiled the adorable statue on Friday, August 6.

Just Event Online reports that Omoregie built the statue as part of his requirements for the award of B.A in Fine and Applied Arts.

Two people slammed the statue, saying it is forbidden in Islam while another said the activist deserved the honour.
