The Sokoto State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the electorate in the state against selling their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
The APC made the appeal, in Sokoto, on Wednesday, through a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Sambo Danchadi.
The party said: “APC believes that no citizen of voting age should be denied his God-given right to vote.”
“We are also ever ready to collaborate with any agency, individual or organisation to ensure that no stone is left unturned to protect our people from disenfranchisement.
“As such, we wish to call on all citizens to rise against this unpatriotic act by refusing to handover their voter cards to anyone who might offer them financial or any form of inducement,” it said.

According to APC, some unscrupulous persons in the state are now in the habit of buying voter cards from uninformed and unsuspecting potential voters.
“Although these unwholesome activities have been going on for some time now, the perpetrators have become even more desperate with the approach of the elections.
“These people are now resorting to using every imaginable tactics to disenfranchise those they suspect would not vote for them.
“So, we wish to call on Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all relevant security agencies to take necessary measures in addressing the situation,” the party said. (NAN)
