Six members of an armed robbery gang, that had being terrorising residents of Orile-Agege in Lagos State, have been arrested.
The suspects, who were arrested by operatives of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Intelligence Response Team (IRT), met their waterloo after they had attacked and robbed Joe Nwanegbo, Toafeek and other residents of the area.
The gang had, at gun point, robbed their victims of Bajaj motorcycles, laptops, cell phones, cash, Gold jewelry and other valuables.
On receiving information of the robbery incident, the IRT operatives swiftly swung into action arresting, Sodique Lawal, Bolaji Jaiyeola, Ajewole Opeyemi, Akinwumi Rilwan, Aransiola Ajibila and Idris Ibrahim.

Speaking on the arrest of the suspects, the IRT Lagos annex Commander, Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), Philip Reininwa said the suspects were arrested in collaboration with the Elere Police Division.
Reininwa said the suspects have confessed to be operating in Lagos and Ogun States.
“After the robbery incident, the suspects had fled to unknown destinations. But in a swift reaction, our operatives led by Supol Balogun Lateef, acting on credible intelligence, in collaboration with the Elere Police Division Lagos, arrested them.
“One locally-made pistol with two live catridges, three Bajaj motorcycles and charms were recovered from the suspects.
“The suspects confessed their involvement in various robbery activities within Lagos and Ogun States. The suspects are still under interrogation, and investigation is in top gear,” he said.
Reininwa also confirmed that efforts have been intensified to track down other gang members, for possible recovery of other loots and operational weapons.
