Sen. Dickson to Gov. Fubara: Don’t be distracted; we are solidly behind you for peace, development 

The senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Sen, Henry Seriake Dickson, has assured Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State of the people’s unwavering commitment and support for his government.

 

 

 

 

 

The former governor and senator thanked Governor Fubara and members of the government for the warm reception and hospitality extended to him and members of his delegation since arrival, which was overwhelming.

 

 

 

 

 

Sen. Dickson thanked the Rivers State Government and the people of the state for extending their kind invitation to him and his delegation to undertake the commissioning of the historic Emohua-Kalabari road project for the public use of the good people of the impacted communities.

Sen. Dickson reiterated the unwavering total support for the Rivers State Government when he was invited as a guest of honor to commission the reconstructed Emohua-Kalabari road project completed by the Governor Siminalayi Fubara led administration.

 

 

 

 

 

Sen. Dickson, while commending the reconstructed road project, congratulated Governor Fubara for delivering life touching projects like the Emohua-Kalabari road project that will tremendously improve socio-economic activities in the impacted communities basically.

 

 

 

 

He commended the Rivers State governor for heeding for peace despite political distractions as the requisite recipe for development, and his vision to execute life-changing projects for the development and good of the people of Rivers State.

 

 

 

 

 

While commenting on the difficulty of road construction in the Niger Delta, Sen. Dickson stated that only a Governor that has the love for his people, and passion for development that can embark on such project, and see to it completion for public use.

 

 

 

 

 

“As a lover of Niger Delta and Ijaw nation culture and tradition, I have taken this several times to most of the communities in Kalabari Kingdom, and I know the state of the road then. I share in the joy of those who are directly impacted,” he added.

While thanking the governor and the government on the completion of the road project, Senator Dickson stated that the governor could have abandoned the project, but he continued to completion because he feels and understands the pains and sufferings of the people of the state.

 

 

 

 

 

Dickson while urging the people of Rivers State to give Governor Fubara their unrelenting support to succeed in office, described the governor as a man of discipline, focus and prudence with the capacity to rise above the altitude of distractions to deliver good governance to the people.

 

 

 

 

While assuring Governor Fubara and the people of Rivers State of the total support of the people of Bayelsa State, Senator Dickson appreciated members of his delegation to solidarise with the Rivers State Government and the people of the State.

 

 

 

 

The Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara in his remarks, thanked the former Governor and serving Senator, Henry Seriake Dickson and members of his high-powered delegation for honoring the invitation to join his government to commission the reconstructed Emohua-Kalabari road project.

Governor Fubara stated that the reconstructed Emohua-Kalabari road was awarded by the immediate past administration, which was twenty-eight percent with a payment of N6billion out of N21.26billion, he asked the contracting company (Julius Berger) to continue the project with the outstanding payment of N15 billion.

 

 

 

“Those of you that are mathematicians including those that understand elementary statistics will see that 70% of this road project was done by this administration. The reason to toe this line, is to explain to our people to understand where we were, and where we are now,” he added.

 

 

 

 

 

The Governor stated that originally the mantra of his administration was consolidation and continuity, and as such, the success of any administration should not be ascribed to anybody but the state government fully knowing well that government is a continuous process.

 

 

 

 

 

He pointed out that the explanation became necessary and important to clarify those who are saying that his administration has not done anything to know that his administration has been doing a lot of projects silently without noise-making and media exaggeration.

 

 

 

 

 

Governor Fubara commended traditional leaders and opinion leaders of the four local government areas of Emohua, Asari-Toru, Degema and Akuku-Toru for the support and cooperation that facilitated the completion of the road project by the construction company expectedly.

 

 

 

 

 

While commending on the delivery of the Trans Kalabari road project, Gov. Fubara assured the people of Bakana and Tombia that the road will get to their communities within the life span of his administration, as the road commence from the Rumuolumeni area.

 

 

 

 

 

Governor Fubara further approved the extension of the Emohua-Kalabari road project from Tema junction to Abonema community, adding that the Ifoko extension will be completed before the end of his administration.
