Leader of a pan-Yoruba Organisation, Egbe Omo Yoruba Ronu (Egbe), Comrade Adekunle Adeosun, has said that donation of security gargets and crime fighting vehicles by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu to the Police recently was further confirmation that he is actually walking his talk over his promise to secure the state.
Adeosun reminded that, security of lives and property of the good people of the state is one of the six pillars that form his THEMES Agenda, saying, the recent gesture, in addition to several earlier gesture has given nobody any iota of doubt that, “Sanwo-Olu’s avowed commitment to secure the state is not shaking.”
The Youth leader, in a chat with the media Friday in Badagry, expressed the delights that, the colourful ceremony, during which the governor donated crime-fighting equipment to the Police, was impressive, pointing out that, that is the best way to tell all criminal minded characters around that there is no hiding places for them in Lagos State.

According to him, Sanwo-Olu’s gesture has spoken louder than long thesis that would waste time but with little or no effect, stating that only hoodlum that wants to commit suicide would not take Sanwo-Olu’s commitment to fight crime in the state serious.
He therefore stressed the need for maximum support for the governor with a view to reciprocating his good gesture and encouraging him to do more just as he reminded that security of any society is a collective duty of everybody, insisting that, to fight crime in any community, all hands must be on deck.
Last week Thursday, during the working visit of President Muhammadu Buhari to Lagos State, the governor donated 150 vehicles, four high-capacity troop carriers, 30 patrol cars, and two anti-riot water cannon vehicles to the police, the inventory of which the President personally took and commended the governor for practically fighting crime and providing security for his people.
After commissioning the equipment by Mr. President, Governor Sanwo-Olu handed over the equipment to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, for the use of Lagos State Police Command.
In his remarks, the governor disclosed that, the gadgets were procured through the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) – an autonomous agency that partner with the private sector and individuals to provide vital support to security agencies.
Adeosun therefore tasked the Police to make use of the equipment effectively to justify the purpose of their procurement so as to be in line of what the President said at the event that the equipment would go a long way in fighting crime in the state.
