Second Ekiti COVID-19 case responding to treatment

Another person quarantined

The Ekiti State government has said the second person who tested positive to Coronavirus has been responding to treatment.
Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Dr. Mojisola Yaya, disclosed that the patient is a 42-year-old indigene of the state.
Speaking at a news conference in Ado Ekiti on Thursday, Dr. Yaya-Kolade said the government would continue to work hard to contain the spread of the Coronavirus in the state.
The Commissioner also explained that the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) ran the test on the patient before he was confirmed positive.

She disclosed that the patient is now receiving treatment at the State Isolation Centre at the Oba Adejugbe General Hospital, Ado Ekiti.
Dr. Yaya-Kolade also revealed that the state also has another suspected case of COVID-19 which is yet to be confirmed.
She explained that the suspected case, a 23-year-old man, has been quarantined and placed under observation.
The Commissioner noted that his sample has been forwarded to NCDC for the confirmation of his status.
She said: “We now have a second case of Coronavirus in the state who has been confirmed positive by NCDC. 
He is now receiving treatment at the State Isolation Centre. He is 42 years old and he is one of us in Ekiti State.
“We also have another case that is yet to be confirmed. He is 23 years old.
“He has been in quarantine and we have taken his sample to NCDC.”
