Former Senate President and 2023 presidential aspirant, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, is to deliver the keynote address at the Seventh Annual General Meeting (AGM), of the Northern Broadcast Media Owners Association (NBMOA) scheduled for Kano this Monday.
In an official communication to this effect, sighted by The Nigerian Xpress, Saraki, in addition to the lecture, is also to feature as the association’s first Chief Guest for the novel News Maker Townhall Meeting.
“The Town Hall will feature a paper presentation by you (ABS) on some of
the major challenges confronting the North and suggestions on the way forward.
This will be followed by question and answer session, as well as contribution from major stakeholders”, NBMOA said.
According to the letter, “the outcome of the Town Hall will constitute some of the resolutions of the AGM”.

A statement from NBMOA said the theme of the AGM, around which the former two-term Governor of Kwara State is also supposed to speak, is “Clear Danger: Drug Abuse in the North and the Role of the Northern Media in Combating the Scourge”.
Other event highlights for the three-day AGM include the award of the NBMOA Media Friendly Governor of the Year, post-humous awards of Recognition to, Sir Ahmadu Bello, Sa’adu Zungur and Abubakar Imam.
There will also be other awards of recognition to select members of the association for their pioneering roles in the industry, as well as a gala/cultural night.
