Thirty-Five Commissioners and Special Advisers were on Tuesday sworn-in by Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and awarded portfolios.
Immediate past Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Tunji Bello, was appointed Commissioner for Water Resources and Environment, Gbenga Omotosho, Commissioner for Information, Hon. Moruf Akinderu Fatai, Commissioner for Housing, while Mrs. Cecilia Bolaji Dada was appointed Commissioner for Women Affairs.
Others are Moyosore Jubril Onigbanjo, SAN, appointed Attorney General, Mr Rabiu Onaolapo Olowo, Commissioner for Finance, Prince Wasiu Gbolahan Lawal, Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Fredrick Abimbola Oladeinde, Comm. for Transport, Mr Hakeem Popoola Fahm, Comm. Science and Technology, Dr. Adewale Ahmed, Comm. Special Duties, Mrs. Shulammite Olufunke Adebolu, Comm. for Tourism and Culture, Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, Comm. Local Govt, Mr. Ganiyu Olusegun Dawodu, Comm. for Youths and Social Development, Prof. Emmanuel Akinola Abayomi, Commissioner for Health, Mrs Uzamat Akinbile- Yusuf, Comm. Home Affairs, Mrs. Ajibola Ponnle, Comm. Establishment, Mrs Adeyoye Aramide, Comm. for Works.

Special Advisers were also awarded portfolios. They are Olatubosun Tojuola Alake, SA, Innovation and Technology, Arch Kabiru Ahmed Abdullahi, SA, Urban Development, Mrs Adeyoye Benson-Awoyinka, SA, Housing, Mr Afolabi Ayantayo, SA, Political and Legislative Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi, SA, Business District, Hon. Moses Oluwatoyin Fayinka, SA, Ministry of Transportation, Mrs Solape Hammond, SA, Sustainable and Dev. Goals,Joe Igbokwe, SA, Water Resources, Mr, Solomon SAANU Bonu, SA, Arts and Culture, and Mr.Tokunbo Philip Wahab, SA, Education.
Out of the new cabinet members, 13 were females. Thirty-eight names were earlier sent by the governor and screened by the state House of Assembly out of which three were later rejected.
In her welcome address, the Secretary to the State Government, SSG, Mrs. Folashade Jaji said the new appointment signifies the hope and aspirations of Lagosians to values.
” Your appointment is a testimony of our readiness to be held accountable of our stewardship. It is also an affirmation of the governor’s confidence in your ability to deliver,” she said.
In his speech, the governor urged the appointees to discharge their duties and see it as privilege to serve the people of the state.
” As we prepare for the challenges ahead, I want you to see your appointment as privilege and call to service. You must exhibit culture of transparency and value for money. Be prepared to pay any price , bear any burden and pay any price in building one of the greatest city called Lagos State, ” he urged.
