Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State on Monday commended his Rivers State counterpart, Gov. Nyesom Wike for his developmental stride in providing infrastructure for the people of Rivers State.
Sanwo-Olu spoke when he opened theOrochiri-Worukwo (waterlines) Flyover in Rivers State. He also charged politicians, political leaders and public office holders across political and ideological divides to come together for the good of the people.
The governor was in Rivers on the invitation of Gov. Wike in spite of both of them belonging to different political parties.
He said political leaders and public office holders can learn a lot from one another’s experience even if they belong to different political parties and urged them to embrace politics without bitterness.
He added Wike’s efforts at providing Infrastructure has earned him the appellation of “Mr. Projects” within and outside Rivers State and described him as “Mr Talk and Do’.
He also congratulated the people of Rivers State on the birth of the major piece of infrastructure that will, no doubt, positively change their lives, but also ultimately serve as the crucial springboard into more social and economic prosperity.
Speaking on the relationship between Rivers and Lagos states, Governor Sanwo-Olu said people are drawn to Lagos and to Port Harcourt as places where economic opportunities abound and where their dreams can be achieved.
