” This event is a testament to the enduring legacy of one of our nation’s most illustrious leaders, the late Alhaji Lateef Jakande, whose vision and values continue to inspire and guide us.
We conceived the Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy to nurture the next generation of public sector leaders equipped to navigate the complexities of our time. Our mission was clear: to empower young, dynamic, and visionary individuals with the knowledge, skills, and ethical foundations necessary to drive positive change within their communities, our state, and beyond,” Sanwo-Olu said.

The governor said the Fellowship, which was a year-long program, has helped to nurture future leaders.
“The Lateef Jakande Leadership Academy will continue to be a place where young leaders are nurtured, where their potential is unlocked, and where they are prepared to make significant contributions to society,” he added.

He urged the 29 fellows of the 2023/2024 set to use their knowledge and leadership skills to define the future of Lagos, Nigeria and Africa.
In his remarks, the Oniru of Iru land, Oba Abdulwasiu Lawal urged the Lagos State government to ensure that the knowledge gained by the twenty nine fellows was not left to waste and should make use of their capabilities for the development and uplift of the state civil service.

The Executive Secretary of the Academy, Mrs Ayisat Agbaje-Okunade congratulated the pioneer fellows on the feat saying she is proud of their growth and achievements.

The Graduating fellows through their representatives thanked Governor Sanwo-Olu for his support saying the programme enabled them to experience leadership at its finest and enhanced their teamwork capabilities.
