The Jigawa state government in collaboration with a Turkish based Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) Hassene has launched the distribution of 1,200 cows to the needy in the society
The state Governor Alhaji Muhammed Badaru Abubakar who flagged-off the meat distribution yesterday at the Yakubu Gowon NYSC Orientation camp Fanisau in Dutse stated that no fewer than eight thousand families are expected to benefit from the gesture.
Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar in his speech declared that the gesture was aimed at assisting the very poor and less privileged in the society to enable them also celebrate the Eid-El kabir like other people in the state.

He said although the programme was initiated by the indigenous Turks living in Europe whom have conceived te idea to focus on the state to assist the needy in the society.
So far 500 cows were slaughtered yesterday Sunday) while another 500 will be slaughtered today (monday) and the remaining 200 will be slaughtered on Tuesday.
Some of the beneficiaries whom comprises of the aged, physically challenged and people affected by various forms of disasters that include both male and female expressed appreciation to Jigawa state government and Hassene for the gesture.
The meat distribution pattern which was observed by both the donor NGO and the state government officials ensures that seven families shares a cow each.
