Ritual: Proprietor, son arrested for sacrificing 7-yr old student to bring good fortune to school

The proprietor of a school in India, Jasodhan Singh, and his son, Dinesh Baghel, who was the director of the school, have been arrested for killing a seven year old student of the school in a black magic ritual sacrifice in order to bring good fortune to the school.

They were arrested along with three other teachers of the school who were also involved in the crime.

According to the police officer, Himanshu Mathur, the boy was found dead in his bed on Sunday night, September 22, at the hostel in the city of Hathras. His body was hidden by the son of the proprietor in his trunk of the car.

The police said Singh and his accomplices had concluded arrangements to take the boy alive to the altar for the sacrifice for the black magic ceremony to be conducted but was killed before the ceremony could begin.

While the police are yet to give details on how the victim died, police authorities said a post-mortem is being conducted on the body.

The India’s National Crime Records Bureau said the incident was one of the 103 cases of human sacrifice reported in the country between 2014 and 2021.

It noted that human sacrifice have become a common practice among some tribes in the country to appease deities and seek for good fortune.
