Renault, Coscharis in partnership to produce cars in Nigeria

French carmaker, Renault and Nigerian manufacturing firm, Coscharis Group have sealed a new partnership to assemble and distribute Renault vehicles in Nigeria.

The two companies last week in Lagos unveiled plans to make the vehicles available across the country at affordable prices.

Under the arrangement, the Coscharis Group plant will start assembling Renault Logan and Renault Duster vehicles and will distribute the cars through their sales network throughout Nigeria from October.

President of Coscharis Group, Cosmas Maduka explained that the company has concluded all arrangements to penetrate the Nigerian market with Renault.

Senior Vice President and Chairman of the Africa, Middle East and India Pacific region of Renault, Fabrice Cambolive, said: “With a population of over 200 million, Nigeria is a strategic African country where Groupe Renault will extend its footprint.

According to Coscharis, automobile enthusiasts in Nigeria are about to get fired up and live their passion once again as the renowned French automobile brand, Renault makes a return to the country.
