The Ogun Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps (TRACE) has advised motorists in the state to promote safe driving, especially during the rainy season.
Mr Olaseni Ogunyemi, the Ogun TRACE Corps Commander, gave the advice in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ota, Ogun, on Friday.
Ogunyemi said that the advice became necessary because the state could no longer tolerate road accidents, especially with the onset of the rainy season.

“The Ogun government cannot afford to record causalities during the rainy season, especially from road accidents.
“The government wants to implore all motorists to put their vehicles in shape as we are expecting the rainy season in full swing soon,” he said.
The TRACE boss, however, said that government was making efforts to reduce road accidents to the barest minimum during the rainy season.
He said that its personnel would embark on massive public enlightenment campaign, especially at motor parks, churches and mosques.
Ogunyemi further said that TRACE had taken its safety campaign to television and radio stations. (NAN)
