‘Putin, Kim Jong Un meeting likely soon’

The Russia Federation, on Monday, confirmed that the first-ever meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) counterpart, Kim Jong Un, is in preparation, said Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov, at a press conference.

“I can confirm that preparations for the meeting are underway, we have been talking about it for quite a while,” Peskov told reporters without giving specific information on the date or place of the meeting.

Republic of Korea’s (ROK) Yonhap news agency reported earlier Monday that the meeting is likely to be held next week in Vladivostok, when Putin is on his way to the second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation to be held in Beijing on April 26-27, said the source familiar with this matter.
