Presidential poll: PDP wins in 9 from 11 announced so far in Oyo

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has  announced results of presidential poll from 11 among the 33 local government areas of Oyo State, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) winning nine and All Progressives Congress (APC), winning two local governments.

As at 8:40p.m., on Sunday, the breakdown of the results announced so far showed that APC won in Irepo and Egbeda Local Government Areas.

In Irepo, APC scored 11,688 votes, while PDP polled 4,244 votes. In Egbeda, APC had 17,295 votes and PDP had 15,065 votes.

Also, PDP won Afijio, Saki East, Kajola, Ibarapa North, Ibarapa East, Itesiwaju, Iwajowa, Ibadan North West, and Olorunsogo. In Afijio,  PDP polled 8,325 and APC scored 8,325. In Saki East, PDP polled 5,883 and PDP had 5,730. In Kajola Local Government, PDP scored 12,282 and APC polled 11,665.

Also, in Ibarapa North, PDP scored 9,070 votes, while APC had 6,587 votes. In Ibarapa East, PDP polled 10,347 and APC scored 7,964. In Itesiwaju Local Government, PDP polled 7,010 and APC scored 6,193 votes

In Iwajowa, PDP had 7,477 votes and APC scored 6,528 votes. In Ibadan North West, PDP had 14,550 votes and APC had 11,126 votes. In Olorunsogo, PDP scored 5,922 votes and APC had 5,447 votes.

The Returning Officer for Oyo State is the Vice Chancellor, University of Ilorin,  Prof. Abdulkareem Sulaiman Age.

The venue of the announcement is the INEC state office, Agodi, Ibadan.
