Police, Vigilante Rescue Kidnapped Chinese National

The combined efforts of the Kwara State Police Command and men of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) has paid off leading to the rescue of a Chinese national from kidnappers.
The Chinese, Mr. PengChao Zhang also known as ‘Williams Kaka by his Nigerian friends was kidnapped from Cherish Guest House where he lodges on 10th March this year in Eiyenkorin on the outskirts of Ilorin, the State capital.
The development had since PenChao’s abduction caused residents of the community located along the Jebba-Ilorin- Ogbomosho highway to live in deep fears attempting to run away at every sight of strangers, irrespective of the missions of such visitors .
Breaking the news of the Chinese’ freedom the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Ejire-Adeyemi Toun in a statement said the Command “is pleased to announce a significant breakthrough in the recent Kidnap incident that occurred in Eiyenkorin, Ilorin, Kwara State on the 10th of March, 2024”.
According to the Police spokesman “six armed men forcefully abducted Mr PengChao Zhang (also known as Williams Kaka amongst his business associates), a Chinese national who Lodged at Cherish Guest House
“Through diligent and coordinated efforts, the Command’s Tactical Teams and the Vigilante Group executed a series of strategic search and investigations leading to the safe rescue of the victim in the early hours of 19th March, 2024”.
He added that the Command was pleased to confirm that the victim had since been reunited with his family unharmed pointing out that the achievement underscored the unwavering commitments of the Kwara Police Command to ensuring the safety and security of all residents and visitors within the State.
Praising her boss; CP Victor Olaiya for an “undaunted and excellent leadership of the Commissioner of Police that remains steadfast in pursuing justice and holding accountable, those responsible for such criminal acts”.
She urged the people of Kwara State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or people to the Police authorities as quickly as as possible.
