Information had it that the deceased had gone alone on a cruise on Lagos waterways, as his aides waited for him at the starting point.

Concerns over the whereabouts of Ogundipe was raised after he did not return to the starting point of the cruise, hours later.

His aides reportedly raised the alarm over his disappearance and his relatives, who were informed of the development, declared him missing.

Ogundipe’s boat was said to have been found later during a quick search by his aides and relatives, while his remains was reportedly found, on Monday, by operatives of the Marine Police.

According to Adejobi, “ The matter is with the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID),  Yaba, for proper investigation.  We have interrogated four of his staff in the course of our investigation.

A relative of the deceased (names withheld) had said, “After much efforts, we discovered his boat through the help of the Marine Police that deployed its personnel to comb the waterways in the state.”

PriceWaterhouseCoopers also commiserated with the family of the deceased as it described the late Ogundipe, who was the PwC’s Africa Tax and Legal Service Leader, as a ‘good leader with diverse skills’.

“We grieve, we mourn but we trust that you are in a better place free from the hurts of the world. RIP Tola Ogundipe. A true leader,” the firm said.
