A suspected kidnapper, who was reported to have been involved in several kidnapping cases, cultism and murders in Delta State, had been killed by the police.
The suspect, identified as Nonso Akubueze, was on the wanted list of the police for years, but met his Waterloo, on Monday, after he was apprehended by a combined team of anti-robbery squad and local vigilance group.
The Nigerian Express gathered that the suspect and his gang, who was a member of the Arubaggar cult group, had been terrorising residents of Ogwashi-Uku community of the state Delta State.
Akubueze and his gang were said to have been involved in various criminal offences and had been on the run having been declared wanted by the police.

It was further gathered that luck ran out on him as a team of the police anti-robbery squad ambushed the gang where they reportedly exchanged gunfire leading to the death of the gang leader, Akubueze.
When contacted, the Delta State Command Police Public Relation Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Aniemaka, confirmed Akubueze’s killing saying that although two of the gang members narrowly escaped, but assured the public that efforts were being made to arrest other members of the gang.
“We will continue to do our best, while also calling on members of the public to always give the useful information on the activities of this bad boys to the police.”
