Police, JTF recover 3 explosives, vehicles in Anambra

 

 

The Anambra State Police Command and the security Joint Task Force, JTF, have recovered deadly weapons during a raid at a camp in Ihiala.

 

The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a statement on Saturday in Onitsha, said the recovered weapons included three unexploded improvised explosives, two abandoned vehicles, and some other deadly materials.

Ikenga disclosed that the joint security forces in a planned and coordinated operation busted a criminal camp, which are located in Lilu, Mbosi and Isseke areas of Ihiala Local Government Area of the state, recovered three unexploded improvised explosives, following accumulated security intelligence.

“Two abandoned vehicles, some explosives materials like copper wires, fuel and other dangerous materials were recovered,” the statement read, adding that Nnaghe Itam, the state Commissioner of Police had charged the security operatives to sustain the tempo of the operations and give no breathing space to the criminals.

According to him, Itam also assured the public of the commitment of all security operatives in the state to continue to eradicate criminal elements and their nefarious activities from the state.
