The Lagos Police Command have exhumed the body of a 17-year-old boy, Adeolu Olubade, buried inside a Lagos apartment by a pastor, Anthony Kwamboli, who allegedly murdered him.
Police report indicates that the incident happened on September 2, 2024 between 4:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Jesus Assembly Omoguwa Street, Ejigbo.
The victim’s throat was allegedly slit by the 30-year-old pastor while he was sleeping, and in order to hide his crime, the pastor hurriedly dug a grave inside his room and buried the boy’s corpse.
According to the police spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, the pastor was arrested after the victim’s family suspected him as being responsible for the death of their son.
He said the family of the victim approached the police on September 3, 2024, and reported that the boy was discovered dead and buried in one of the rooms at Jesus Assembly Street, Omoguwa Street, Ejigbo.
Hundeyin said the family pointed accusing fingers at the Pastor as the suspect prompting the police to dispatch a team of detectives to the scene of the incident where they took photographs and exhumed the corpse.
He added that the corpse was taken to the Isolo General Hospital for postmortem examination while the suspect was arrested and a shovel suspected to have been used in digging the shallow was also taken as exhibit.
Hundeyin said that the suspect had been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Unit at Alagbon for further investigation.
