Police arrest robbers attempting to rob customers at Lekki bar

Five robbery suspects who had attempted to rob customer at Angle 90 bar, in Ilasan, Lekki, have been arrested by operatives if the Lagos State Police Command.

The suspects had allegedly stormed the area at 1:30p.m. last Friday, when a bar attendant who had suspected their movement, alerted the management.

A distress call was made to the Ilasan Police Division, whose men were quick to arrive the scene.

The five suspects were arrested and a local- made pistol with 10 unexpended cartridges were recovered from the suspects.

Confirming the arrest of the suspects, Elkana Bala, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), gave the identities of the suspects as Ibrahim Abu, Samuel Usai, John Nwaru, Emmanuel Moro and Michael Daniel.

Bala, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) said, “The Ilasan Police Station received a distress call that a group of hoodlums, suspected to be armed robbers cum cultists, were sighted behind angle 90 bar, Ilasan, Lekki.

“A team of policemen was quickly mobilized to the scene, where the five suspects were arrested. The leader of the gang is Abu. On searching the suspects, one locally made pistol with 10 unexpended cartridges were recovered.”

The PPRO said investigation was ongoing, as the suspects would be charged to court soon.
