Police arrest 23 kidnap suspects in Adamawa

About 23 suspected kidnappers have been arrested by men of the Adamawa State Police Command.

In the process, three AK47 rifles were reportedly from the suspects.

The police have also recovered other firearms during the raid including one fabricated Sub Machine Gun (SMG), two single barrel guns with 468 rounds of live ammunition and 25 cartridges.

Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Mr. Olugbenga Adeyanju, made the known, on Thursday, in Yola, the state capital.

The police boss said the suspects had, in April, allegedly conspired and kidnapped one Ardo Kulda and one Tela Bala all of Guyaku and Golantabal villages under Gombi council and collected N4.5 million as ransom money.

Mr. Adeyanju’s words, “In order to achieve this, I intend to police the state in tandem with the creed of the Inspector-General of Police.

“But the police cannot achieve much without the support of the community through information sharing, logistics support, adherence to the laws of the country.”
