Mrs Naomi Fanto, the Southern Plateau Senatorial candidate of the Action Democratic Party (ADP) says her chances in the forthcoming general elections are brighter than those of male contestants.
Fanto made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Jos on Wednesday.
She said that the electorates were now smarter in their choice of representatives.
“The campaign is going on well. The people are now smarter and want to elect someone that can deliver, ‘’ she said.
Fanto urged her constituents to vote massively for her, promising that she would give her best in service of the senatorial district.

The ADP candidate noted that female candidates in the state had less financial resources to outdo their male counterparts in electioneering due to lack of opportunities for women to make a lot of money.
“If a woman is influential, they begin to call her all sorts of names and also come up with different stories to discredit her, ‘’ Fanto said.
According to her, the political contest is essentially about who can deliver on the mandate best among the various candidates canvassing for votes from the electorate.
The ADP candidate noted that: “It is all about who can do the job better and not a gender war. Male politicians think that if a woman is put in a place of authority, she will lord it over them’’. (NAN)
