Vice President-elect, Kashim Shettima, on Thursday, paid a visit to former military President Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and a former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar.
Shettima, who was in Minna, the capital of Niger State, paid separate tributes to the two former Nigerian leaders during Ramadan.
According to sources close to the two leaders, Shettima’s visits were not unrelated to the incoming All Progressives Congress (APC) government led by President-elect.
According to sources, Tinubu is seeking the support of the two elder statesmen.
The Vice President-elect was also said to be consulting with the two former military leaders about a plot by some politicians to install an interim government, as confirmed by the Department of State Services (DSS), on Wednesday.
