The Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), on Wednesday, dismissed the petition filed by the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, seeking the nullification of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s victory in the February 25 presidential election.
The Tribunal rejected several exhibits Atiku tendered to establish his allegations of irregularities and malpractices.
It ruled that several parts of Atiku’s petition were incompetent and upheld some objections argued by Tinubu’s counsel, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN.

The PEPT further held that Atiku’s petition lacked several facts relevant to proving his allegations against Tinubu.
According to the Tribunal, the petitioner failed and neglected to cite places where ballot boxes were snatched, the ways and manners of the Bimodal Voters Accreditation System, BVAS, machines were manipulated and names of polling booths where the alleged malpractices took place.
The PEPT ruled that Atiku’ neither proved his claim that he polled majority of lawful votes in clear terms nor the total lawful votes he claimed to have scored, resulting in his allegation that Tinubu did not score majority of lawful voteseven while he could not provide purported lawful votes to the Tribunal.
