PEPT: Atiku storms court for hearing of petition against Tinubu

Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP,  on Thursday, stormed the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, sitting in Abuja to observe proceedings in the hearing of his petition the declaration of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, as the winner of the February 25, 2023 presidential election.

Atiku and his party are asking the Justice Haruna Tsammani-led five-member panel to order the withdrawal of the Certificate of Return issued to Tinubu by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

The former vice president, who arrived at the courtroom around 8:35am, accompanied by his friends and well wishes, has also filed an application for live coverage of day-to-day proceedings on his petition.

Among others, Atiku was accompanied to the court by Sen. Dino Melaye, the  gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for the November governorship poll in Kogi State.
