PDP: We’ll react to court order barring Iyorchia Ayu as chairman soon

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that it would respond to the court order barring its National Chairman, Dr. Iyorchia Ayu, from office as soon as it receives it.

Remember that a High Court, in Makurdi, Benue State, presided over by Justice Wilfred Kpochin issued an interim order prohibiting Dr. Ayu from posing as the PDP chairman.

The order was issued by the court, on Monday, in response to an ex-parte application filed by a PDP member, Conrad Utaan.

A 15-paragraph affidavit and three exhibits, including the applicant’s PDP membership card, receipt of payment of dues, and a copy of the resolution of the PDP Executive of the Igyorov Council Ward of Gboko Local Government Area suspending Ayu, backed up the application.

In a chat with reporters in Abuja, PDP spokesman Debo Ologunagba said the party is ready to question the sequence of events that led to Ayu’s suspension at a meeting of its National Working Committee.

He stated that Nigerians will learn the party’s decision on the order barring Ayu as chairman following the NWC meeting.

He said, “It is when we see the court order that we can react. We will react appropriately when we get the order.

When we get the details of the court order, the National Working Committee of the party will consider it and we will make our decision known to Nigerians.
