BABAJIDE OKEOWO
Following the confession of popular Abuja-based pastor, Joshua Iginla, that he and his wife, Yemisi, both had children out of wedlock, the social media has been agog with some lampooning and hailing the pastor for the confession.
Iginla, who is the Senior Pastor of Champions Royal Assembly, who spoke to his congregation during a Sunday service, said when his wife brought an illegitimate child into their home, he forgave her, but that she refused to forgive him when he had his own child with another woman.
The cleric, in a video that has since gone viral, stated that though he had tried for seven years to “stable the vehicle,” it had resulted in a battle with his family members and disciples.

Expectedly, reactions have been pouring in torrentially. According to Clement Ariyo, the cleric erred and wants both parties to remain celibate.
“There is no Scriptural backing to divorce your wife in this case; but if you decide to do so against Scripture, then both of you must be ready to remain unmarried and live in celibacy. But the problem is that if you cannot restrain yourselves from sexual immorality while married, how will you be able to restrain yourselves while unmarried? Please,my brother, have a rethink and don’t jump from frying pan into the fire. I pray that the grace of God will speak for this marriage and help you to reconcile your differences now that both of you have seen your mistakes and weaknesses. Shalom,” he wrote.
Falade Yemi called for support for the man of God and also prayed for restoration.
“This is not the time to stone you rather pray that the Almighty God will restore you to Himself and heal your spiritual wound, sir. Whosoever covereth his sin shall not prosper but whosoever confesses it will obtain mercy of the Lord. GOD will restore and strengthen you in Jesus Name,” he prayed
