The All Nigeria Confederation of Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS) in Oyo State on Thursday inaugurated its newly constructed secretariat in the state after 63 years without a permanent structure.
Inaugurating the secretariat in Ibadan, Oyo State ANCOPSS President, Emmanuel Olujide, said that the construction of the secretariat was executed through revenue generated from members.
Olujide said that the confederation‘s desire to have a permanent site yielded result in 1994 when the then Military Administrator of Oyo State, Navy Capt. Adetoye Sode, gave the site to ANCOPSS.
According to him, the funding of the construction of the secretariat was, however, supported by Sen. Adesoji Akande of Oyo State who donated N1million toward the project.

” For several years our case was like that of the children of Israel in the wilderness who lived in tents, shifting from one place to another with no office, no table and chair.
” Today God has settled us and brought us to a large place and we can easily be located; today the jinx of 63 years of homelessness has been broken,” Olujide said.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Oyo State Teaching Service Commission, Alhaji Basiru Ajibade, said the new secretariat was a legacy of achievement and would enable good service delivery by ANCOPSS.
