The Ondo State University of Science and Technology (OSUSTECH), Okitipupa, is yet to resume academic activities, following the suspension of a three month old strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Thursday.
A visit by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Friday to OSUSTECH revealed that students were yet to resume academic activities, although some non teaching staff were found on duty.
NAN also reports that all the lecture rooms were under lock and key.

Dr Dipo Komolafe, the ASUU Chairman, OSUSTECH chapter, told NAN that the institution was aware of the suspension of the strike but some processes needed to be followed before the institution resume.
He added that the suspension of the strike was official by the national body of ASUU but other chapters needed to fine tune it through their congresses before academic activities would resume fully.
“Yes, we are aware of the suspension of the strike but that was official, as our chapter would need to hold a congress to fine tune the process of resumption.
The outcome of the congress will be communicated to our students to resume their academic activities, which will not be too far from now,” Komolafe said.
NAN reports that ASUU suspended the strike, which began on November 4, 2018 after reaching agreement on Thursday with the federal government delegation led by Dr Chris Ngige, the Minister of Labour and Employment. (NAN)
