The Osun House of Assembly, on Tuesday, introduced a bill that would prevent kidnapping in the state.
The bill, which is entitled, “Kidnapping Prohibition Bill 2019” was presented as a privately sponsored bill by the Speaker of the House, Mr Timothy Owoeye, during the Assembly’s plenary session in Osogbo.

According to the Speaker, the bill, when passed into law, seeks to prevent kidnapping, recommends appropriate sanctions for those involved in kidnapping and those abating them.
He said the bill would also seek to involve all and sundry in the state in the efforts to prevent kidnapping as well as curb the bad development.
The bill, however, passed the first reading after its presentation and the Speaker said he was optimistic that the bill would soon become law, as it would be given a speedy passage because of its importance. (NAN)
