Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Governor-elect of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Governor-elect of Imo State, Emeka Ihedioha were among the dignitaries that attended the 80th birthday of notable Nigerian, Entreprenuer, Paschal Dozie.
The birthday dinner was held on Thursday at the Landmark Event Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, also with the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Okechukwu Enelamah in attendance.
Dozie is the Co-Founder, Partner, Founding Partner and Non-Executive Partner at African Capital Alliance, and the Founder of Kunoch Limited.
Dozie was the Founder of Diamond Bank PLC and served as its Chief Executive Officer from 1991 to 2006.
He served as the President at the Nigeria Stock Exchange.
Dozie served as the Chairman of New Nigeria Foundation and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of African Development Foundation.
In a lecture titled, ” The Africa of Our Tomorrow,” Osinbajo extolled Dozie for upholding ethics and values in his business endevours.
He said that Dozie’s passion for Nigeria and Africa was evident in his business.
Osinbajo expressed optimism that Africa would rise to the occassion in terms of innovation and technology.
He said that many young Africans were already breaking grounds in technology and innovation.
The vice president said that the celebrator though 80, still had a lot to offer.
” Your experience, imfluence and wisdom are still needed.
“At 90, God gave Abraham a new mandate–you must get ready to begin my work anew.
“You still have 10 years to see the age of Abraham when God gave him a new assignment and I pray that God will see you through,” he said.
On his part, Ihedioha extolled Dozie’s contributions to national developement.
He described Dozie as a worthy son of Imo State whom the state was very proud of.
